System components that operate only in emergency conditions require periodic testing to confirm that they will function when needed. In most cases this is done by putting a component under the pressure or flow conditions that would exist when the system is called upon to extinguish a fire.

The following is a short list of system components that are periodically tested and their testing frequencies.

System Component Testing Frequency
Main Drains Quarterly/Annually
Water-Flow Alarms Quarterly
Control Valves Annually
Preaction/Deluge Valves Quarterly
Dry Pipe Valves Quarterly
Gauges 5 Years
Fire Pumps (No Flow/Flow) Weekly/Annually
Sprinklers (Extra High Temperature) 5 Years
Sprinklers (Fast Response) At 20 years then every 10 Years
Sprinklers At 50 years then every 10 Years

Our MicroTrack Inspection Tracking System maintains your system's testing history, allowing us to schedule periodic testing and maintenance at convenient intervals to be certain that your system is in compliance and in good working order at all times.
